5G in the historic center
On December 9, 2021, Kcell launched 5G in Turkestan. According to the operator’s press release of December 13, 2021, it is the first city in Kazakhstan with full 5G coverage: the network covered the entire historic center. The akimat (local administration) took part in the launch. On launch day, we ran a press tour of the historic center for journalists and bloggers from three cities of Kazakhstan, showing the network not on slides but through demonstrations and in VR.
The press tour route
- A virtual flight over Turkestan. The tour opened with it: guests saw the city from above before the first speeches began.
- Karavan Saray. The press presentation took place in the hotel’s presidential suite.
- The Farab Library roof. The library is one of the sites covered by the new network. The finale took place on its roof, right next to the equipment.
From invitations to press materials
We were responsible for the program and script, the guest list and invitations, flights, transfers and accommodation for the journalists, media relations during the tour, running the event and the press materials.
